What the extension does on your device
Your Discord login. Your Discord login stays in your browser. DiscordSuite uses the Discord session you already have open. It never asks for your password, and your login is never saved or sent anywhere except Discord. When you use DiscordSuite on a Discord tab, it uses that session to request channel, server, message, emoji and sticker data from Discord's API at discord.com.
Your messages. Exports are built on your computer. Your messages are never uploaded to us. Messages are fetched from Discord's API and converted into the format you choose (HTML, CSV, XLSX, JSON or TXT) inside your browser. The file is saved with Chrome's downloads. With Chat Exporter's "Download attachments" or Media Downloader's media-only export (or All tools), files are downloaded directly from Discord's CDN (cdn.discordapp.com, media.discordapp.net) and packed into a ZIP on your computer.
Member list export. Member export uses the server owner's own bot token. It's kept in the browser's session storage until you click "Forget bot token" or the browser closes. It's sent only to Discord's API and never to us.
Emojis and stickers. The emoji and sticker downloader requests the open server's emoji and sticker list from Discord's API and downloads the files from Discord's own servers into a ZIP on your computer.
What the extension stores in your browser. Chrome's storage.local keeps the license key, cached license status, the review-bonus flag and incremental-export markers. This data stays on your device. Removing the extension deletes it.
Exported HTML files. When you open an HTML export, your browser may load avatars, emoji and images from Discord's CDN, unless you exported with attachments and open the local copies.
What we receive
Paid licenses: the license check sends only the license key to /license/verify on our license server (https://license.discordsuite.io). Results are cached for 24 hours. If it can't reach the license server, your last confirmed license keeps working until 3 days after your paid period ends, and at most 35 days after the last successful check.
IP addresses: like any web server, ours sees the IP address of each request. We use it only briefly, in memory, to rate-limit requests, and we do not store it in the license record.
Purchases: when you buy a license, Stripe or PayPal sends our server billing event notifications. From them we keep a license record (your license key, email address, payment provider, plan, subscription status, period end, creation date, and the customer, subscription and payment reference IDs). We also log the IDs of billing events so each is processed once, and a record of the license emails we send. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal under their own privacy policies.
Emails: we email your license key using Postmark. The server passes Postmark your email and key so it can deliver the key.
Website: No analytics or tracking, in the extension or on the website. If you use the contact form, it posts your name (if given), email, topic and message to https://license.discordsuite.io/contact. Contact form submissions are emailed to our support inbox via Postmark and are not stored on the license server. The email lives in the support mailbox and is deleted when no longer needed for support.
How we use it
Only to deliver paid licenses and support: create and check licenses, email your key, handle billing, refunds and support.
Permissions the extension requests
activeTab and scripting
read your Discord session from the Discord tab you're using, when you use the extension.
storage
keep your license key, cached license status, the review-bonus flag, incremental-export markers and, for member export, your bot token in session storage until you forget it or the browser closes.
downloads
save export files and attachments.
offscreen (Chrome)
prepare large export files for download.
Host access to discord.com, cdn.discordapp.com, media.discordapp.net
fetch your messages, members, emojis, stickers and attachments from Discord.
Retention
We delete the buyer email 24 months after the subscription ends. Billing records (plan, dates, provider IDs) are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask for deletion earlier at [email protected], except for what tax law requires us to keep.
Where data is stored
The license server runs on a VPS operated by OVHcloud in the United States (Virginia).
Your choices and rights
Removing your license key in the extension stops license checks from that browser. Cancel your subscription to stop renewals; existing records follow the retention policy above. To access or delete your license record, email [email protected]. We will delete the buyer email on request, except for billing records tax law requires us to keep. Depending on where you live, for example in the EU or UK under the GDPR or in California under the CCPA, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Email [email protected] to make a request; we answer within 30 days. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We disclose it only to the payment and email providers described above, to run your license.
Children
DiscordSuite is not for children under 13, or the minimum age to use Discord in your country.
